Jerry Stackhouse was selected in the first round of the 1995 NBA draft with the third pick by the Philadelphia 76ers. In his first season with the 76ers, he led his team with a 19.2 points per game average, and was named to the NBA's All-Rookie team. In the 1996–97 season, the 76ers also drafted Allen Iverson. Combined, the two posted 44.2 points per game for the Sixers.
